What the Judge is Looking For – Hunter Under Saddle

Most people are concerned with the over fences portion of their hunter rounds, but part of the division includes the under saddle portion. This is a live recording of Senior Judge Laura Kelland-May discussing what the judge is looking for in the Hunter Under Saddle

The top 3 things to consider are:

  1. Performance is number 1. The performance has to be the number one thing.
  2. Manners. This means no bucking, rearing, bolting or ear pinning.
  3. Way of going. This is the icing on the cake and this is where quality horses rise to the top.

What are the top thing you would look for in a performance horse?
