Keep your Stable Organized With Folders

I know my purse, vehicle and desk drawer used to be over run with scraps of important papers. Shoeing reciepts, feed bills and cheques can be found stuffed in pockets of my jeans, under the car seats and posted on the cork board.

  1. Invest some time and effort to get your stable organied by getting some file folders, accordian folders and large envelopes. Or you can invest in a horse related organizer such as Keeping Tabz – Complete Equine Organizer. It helped me get my stuff organized.Get large paper sized envelopes, one for each month and put your receipts for each month in them. Put all of January receipts in one envelope, February’s in a second envelope and so on. I fyou d your own taxes, it will be easy to find information and if you hand it off to a book keeper or accountant – they will love you for it!
  2. REcord expenses/income as soon as possible. File your receipts immediately or at least by the end of the week. set aside one day per week to putting receipts in the correct spot. I’ll do it tomorrow will just leave you with a pile of papper on your desk, window sill or table.
  3. If you need to do something RIGHT NOW, but don’t have the time – make a not of it and do it later. Record the details of the idea, thought or issue so you remember what to do later. Nothing is more aggrivating than sitting down and remembering you were supposed to do something but forgetting what it is! Use your phone, email or postit note to give yourself the details.
